Founder & Senior Patient Advocate

Andrea S. Kohn, RN, CRNP

Andrea has called Montgomery County home since 1967. The focus of her nursing career has been working with patients in long term care at home and in medical facilities to improve the quality of their lives. In 2004, Andrea founded MCM, a licensed healthcare consulting agency in Rockville, Maryland, and found herself doing what she loves, advocating for patients who need a voice. Andrea became a Certified Registered Adult Nurse Practitioner in 2007 after many years as a registered nurse. She works alongside her husband, Steve who manages the administrative side of the business while she oversees the clinical care of MCM’s clients. After completing her nurse practitioner degree, Andrea worked as a CRNP for a large gastroenterology group in Rockville. In 2015, she began working in medical house calls, providing primary care to elderly patients in their homes, group homes and assisted living facilities. She has a passion for working with and treating the elderly and thrives on helping patients with dementia enjoy a greater quality of life. Andrea is pleased to work part time alongside Dr. Nicholas Schor at Olney Psychiatry where she helps Dr. Schor handle patients presenting with symptoms of Alzheimer’s Disease, Parkinson’s Disease, and other chronic illnesses. Andrea is a graduate of Thomas S. Wootton High School in Rockville, obtained her BSN at The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC and her CRNP at the University of Maryland in Baltimore, Maryland. She resides in Rockville, Maryland with her husband, and has three grown sons, one wonderful daughter in law, and one grandson.

Since 2015 Leah has been an expert scheduling coordinator and is consistently recognized by her peers in the industry for her keen ability to provide exceptional staffing for clients oftentimes with in an extremely short window of time. With recent staffing shortages in the homecare industry locally and across the country due to the "Great Resignation", Leah has managed to recruit, hire and fully vet outstanding care staff from all over the Washington, DC metro area and carry the company through the many obstacles associated with the recent pandemic. What could only be described as pulling a "rabbit out of a hat" at times, Leah knows how to match the unique personalities of MCM's caregiving staff who are complementary to and provide the utmost in care to MCM's clients. A certified nursing assistant herself, Leah has a keen understanding of the day to day issues facing caregiving staff and has developed outstanding relationships with everyone she works with including clients and caregivers. Her love for people is expressed each day with her warm, friendly attitude and empathic tone. To say that families love working with Leah would be an understatement. Leah and her family love their very active dogs, crabbing, little league and other sports and being with family. A graduate of Strayer University with a Bachelors in Business Administration/Management with coursework in biology at Salisbury University and 2 years of an accelerated nursing program at ITT Tech in Virginia, Leah lives on the Eastern Shore of Maryland with her husband, Lucas and two wonderful children.

Arielle Green HR Director

Arielle Green

With over 10 years in the home healthcare industry, Arielle has been the primary coordinator of Human Resources and employee credentialing for MCM since 2018. Arielle has developed outstanding relationships with the MCM staff and helps keep the caregivers on track with setting appointments and staying in touch to ensure they are current with all of their documentation. Arielle earned a B.A. in Education from Hood College in Frederick and finds herself enjoying helping people in every way possible. She recognizes the incredible work that the MCM staff does to help oversee the care of our clients and finds it truly humbling. Originally from the DC area, Arielle now resides on the Atlantic seacoast of New Hampshire with her husband and two daughters. She loves a strong cup of coffee, the outdoors, especially running and enjoying every crazy moment with her daughters.

Betty Weinshel, RN

With over 20 years of clinical experience as a registered nurse, Betty joined MCM in 2018 to assist with client assessments, clinical evaluations, and to assist families with medication organization and at-home wellness consulting. Betty has been instrumental in maintaining the continuity of care for clients and provides oversight for MCM's caregiving staff. Betty has a broad background in home care including work with a local home health agency as a nursing care coordinator, several years working in hospice at home and as the Clinical Director for a large in home primary care provider service in Montgomery County. In addition to her duties with MCM, Betty currently works with a large physician practice in Silver Spring. Betty finds great joy working with the aging population and helping families navigate life decisions for their loved ones. She earned her Associate's Degree in Nursing from Montgomery College in Takoma Park, Maryland and has done additional coursework in Health Leadership at Seattle Pacific University in Seattle, Washington. Betty has two grown daughters and lives with her husband in Burtonsville. She enjoys spending time with her family and her pets and loves traveling.

Caley Davis Care Coordinator

Caley Davis

Caley currently works with Leah Foxwell and Morgan Streckfus in the Care Coordination department and assists with MCM's marketing and advertising efforts in the Metro region. Caley has extensive communications and people skills having worked for 6 years in the banking industry. She has held a variety of positions including teller, personal banker and has experience as a branch manager for a large community bank on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Caley has completed coursework and is currently working on completing an associate's degree in Principals of Banking at Chesapeake College in Wye Mills, Maryland and currently resides near Easton, Maryland with her husband and pre-school-aged daughter. Caley loves being out on the water and spending time with her wonderful family.

Steve Kohn

Steve has resided in Montgomery County since 1967. For over 11 years, he has enjoyed learning from his wife, Andrea and showing people with aging parents and other loved ones how to provide the most comprehensive care while keeping them ultra comfortable in their own homes with the help of the wonderful staff at MCM. With over 30 years in a variety of sales, marketing, business administration, public health research and television, video and film production, Steve has a vast amount of experience and has developed the ability to work with clients and staff from all types of backgrounds. He is highly skilled at working with difficult situations and has been able to provide calm for families who are in the "storm" of their lives trying to figure out next steps for their loved ones. A graduate of the School of Speech (Communication) at Northwestern University with a degree in Radio/TV/Film with distinction, Steve is also a graduate of Thomas S. Wootton High School in Rockville and has enjoyed being the public address announcer for various local school sports teams including Our Lady of Good Counsel High School, St. Johns College High School, and Thomas S. Wootton High School. He also enjoys creating videos for collegiate and professional baseball teams when he can. Steve and Andrea enjoy traveling and have worked on a variety of humanitarian mission trips throughout the world over the past several years including assisting refugees in Lesvos, Greece, communities surrounding Nairobi, Kenya and Andrea participated in a medical mission to Cambodia. Steve resides in Rockville, Maryland with Andrea and has three grown sons, a wonderful daughter in law and one grandson.

Clara Kohler

Billing and Payroll Director

Clara was recruited to MCM by Steve and Andrea Kohn in 2016 and has utilized her many years of professional bookkeeping, accounting and payroll skills to keep MCM on track and constantly growing as an organization. Previously she handled the books for a regional meat distribution company with six subsidiaries as well as a local construction contracting company with several million in revenue. An expert in QuickBooks and other accounting and payroll software, Clara's acumen in the billing department helps clients deal with the intricacies of invoicing as well as submitting to clients' long term care insurance companies for reimbursement. Always a soothing voice on the other end of the phone, Clara helps MCM's clients and caregiving staff remain calm while sorting through any questions about billing or payroll. Clara also has experience as a caregiver and personal administrator to elderly clients and truly understands the specific requirements of providing the best care possible and to treat each client like they are a member of her own extended family. With an Associate's Degree in Music/Piano Teaching from Southwestern Adventist University in Keene, Texas, Clara loves to sing and play music on the piano together along with her husband, Sam. On weekends you may find Clara cruising the highways up and down the East Coast with Sam on their Spyder, three-wheeler motorcycle. She has three grown children, two in Maryland and one in Florida as well as three lovely, vivacious grandkids who she loves to spend time with.

Billing and Payroll Administrative Assistant

Debra Salyer

Debra comes to MCM with an extensive background in healthcare administration, billing and electronic medical records system training and implementation having worked for a large physician practice for over 20 years filing claims, working on accounts receivable and collections. She has an extensive amount of experience reviewing medical records and coordinating with insurance companies to verify proper payment and reimbursements. Debra assists Clara in the Billing and Payroll departments making sure that invoicing and payroll are running smoothly. In addition, Debra has become instrumental in implementing a comprehensive CRM and telephony system used by our caregiving staff to ensure proper accounting of hours worked and accurate billing to MCM's clients. Debra has developed strong relationships with the MCM staff and enjoys teaching them how to use the new system and helping them realize how it saves time and money. Debra is also experienced as a private duty personal caregiver and understands the day to day requirements of our caregiving staff. She also spent 6 years in Korea as an English teacher and spent 2 years traveling throughout Korea helping other teachers improve their teaching methods. Debra currently lives in Rocky Face, GA and enjoys taking long walks and enjoying the natural beauty of the beautiful state of Georgia.

Care Coordinator

Morgan Streckfus

Morgan joins MCM after several years working in the hospitality and restaurant industry for a local organization on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Morgan has a diverse background and over 7 years of experience in scheduling staff, working on payroll, team building and maintaining the highest level of customer service possible. She works directly with Leah Foxwell and Caley Davis in the Care Coordination Department and supports MCM’s client and caregiver scheduling. Morgan’s high level of professionalism and attention to detail make her a tremendous asset to MCM’s administrative staff.

Client Care Advocate

Nicole Christenson, CRNP

Nicole has been a nurse for over 30 years and a certified registered family nurse practitioner for over 23 years. Nicole developed her passion for working with the elderly at age 15 while working as a kitchen aide in a 24-bed nursing home that became her “home away from home.” After her 16th birthday, Nicole began working for the first time as a nurse’s aide and often spent her days off visiting residents. Nicole graduated with honors, Sigma Theta Tau, from both Michigan State University (East Lansing, MI) with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1993, and the University of Maryland (Baltimore, MD) with a Master of Science in Family Nurse Practitioner in 2000. Nicole is adept at providing care in any setting; having worked at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland in telemetry and critical care, private outpatient Family Practice for Montgomery Hospice in-patient and home settings in and around Montgomery County, Maryland, and palliative care outpatient services for Shady Grove Hospital in Rockville, Maryland. She also has worked at one of the largest senior living communities in the country where she alternated rounding in the subacute rehab unit, long term care, and assisted living communities. Visiting on a routine or as-needed basis, Nicole finds extreme pleasure assisting patients while they transition from a hospital or rehab environment to full life back in their own home. She works closely with MCM caregivers, utilizing her cumulative knowledge of medicine, nutrition, and exercise, to create custom care plans unique to each client’s needs. Additionally, Nicole plays an integral liaison role for clients whose families live out-of-town; assisting family members to provide their parents or other elderly loved ones with the full life they deserve.
