Andrea is the founder of Medical Consulting and Management, LLC, a licensed home healthcare consulting company in Maryland, where she finds herself doing what she loves, advocating for patients who need a voice. Her husband, Steve manages the daily operations of MCM in Rockville. Inspired by what was lacking in the healthcare system to address the needs of her own parents as they dealt with various health issues, Andrea founded MCM in 2004 and has been consulting and advising her friends, family, and their loved ones ever since.

Andrea obtained her BSN at The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC and her MSN nurse practitioner degree at the University of Maryland in Baltimore, Maryland. The focus of her nursing career has been working with patients in long term care, assisted living facilities as well as their own homes to improve the quality of their lives. 

Andrea’s diverse medical background includes working as a nurse practitioner for a large gastroenterology group in Rockville as well as working for a medical house calls company, as the primary care provider to elderly patients in their homes, group homes and assisted living facilities. She has a passion for working with and treating the elderly and thrives on helping patients with Alzheimer’s and other diseases enjoy a greater quality of life. She assisted multiple nursing facilities throughout the state implement Quality Assurance programs that allowed them to meet and exceed strict state regulations. Her customized programs for nursing facilities allowed achievement of the highest standards of care possible with her focus always on allowing patients to receive superior care at all times. 

 

Since 2015, Andrea has worked with Olney Psychiatry where she teams with geriatric psychiatrist, Dr. Nicholas Schor caring for patients in their homes who present with symptoms of Alzheimer’s Disease, Parkinson’s Disease, and other chronic illnesses.

 

Originally from Philadelphia, Pa., raised in Europe through kindergarten, Andrea has resided in Montgomery County, Maryland since 1967. A proud graduate of Thomas S. Wootton High School in Rockville, Andrea lives with her husband, Steve and has three grown sons, one daughter-in-law, one bunny, and a grand dog.
